It’s Time to Reintroduce Myself.
As always, here is that fun disclaimer. This blog is for information and through provoking purposes only and is not a replacement for therapy. It is highly recommended to work with a therapist in your area who can support you and your individual needs. If you are in Utah, and think we would vibe, I am currently accepting new clients. Please contact our intake team at Aspire Counseling Services at 801-525-4645 and request Candace Lance.
After many months, tons of coordination, and many moving pieces, I am officially starting as an Marriage and Family Therapy Intern (MFT-I) this month at Apsire Counseling Services under the supervision of Stefanie Peterson. It is actually happening and I am pretty stinking excited. I feel like I have been waiting months for this moment and now it is finally here.
Starting your entire career over in your 40’s is not for the faint of heart. It has been one big giant juggling act and resetting every part of who I have been for the past 20 years. Some aspects of the transition has gone better than I could imagine, and others not so much. Just two weeks away, I closed the chapter on my previous career. In doing so, I have gone all in on completing my Masters degree and being a therapy intern.
Now I am reintroducing myself. My name is Candace Lance and I am a mental health counselor with Aspire Counseling Services serving clients in person in Layton, UT and telehealth throughout Utah. I specialize in all things relationships, intimacy, and life transitions. While I have interests in intimacy and sex therapy, perinatal mental health, couples therapy, and trauma, I am also open to helping individuals and clients who want to explore a more modern, no-nonsense approach to taking autonomy of your life. Literally, nothing is too taboo or off the table. I am the type of therapy intern who wants to jump in and have those tough conversations because that is when you will have breakthroughs and when you will see what is actually possible in your life.
Coming here will be a blend of learning a bit more about me, my style as a therapy intern, addressing all the taboo mental health topics, maybe a bit of pop culture, and I will likely throw in some strong opinions here and there. Just a place for me to share a bit about mental health and perhaps crush some stigmas while I am at it. You will learn, I am pretty straight forward and could ruffle some feathers but life would be so boring if we were all the same, right?!
I am glad you are here.
This is just the beginning.
